Associate or Assistant Professorship : Animal Nutrition and Physiology – Obesity

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the research team of Professor John R Speakman as an associate or assistant professor (depending on level and experience). The successful candidates will have a PhD degree and have prior postdoctoral experience of work involving nutrition and in particular study of food intake regulation or obesity in animal models. A previous period of study in the USA or Europe would be a distinct advantage but not a prerequisite. The successful candidate will have a strong publication record in peer reviewed journals, and evidence of prior success in grant funding is desirable. Fitting into the research programme led by Professor Speakman into regulation of energy balance, the post will concern development of a new model of food intake regulation and will involve work involving measurement of physical activity and energy expenditure as well as food intake in a number of animal models including lactation and cold exposure. Prior experience and expertise with state of the art methods in these areas is required. Knowledge and use of methods for measuring body composition and experience with standard methods in molecular biology would be advantageous. The positions offered will depend on current position and prior experience. Interested candidates should contact Professor Speakman (j.speakman@genetics.ac.cn) directly enclosing a cover letter and CV.
